I started out playing a duo with Alex Burns in the early 80’s at the Esplanade Hotel, where I was asked to front Cattletruck, whose debut album had three Top Ten singles.

During this time, I met Chris Stockley (Axiom, Dingoes, Jimmy Barnes) and started writing and doing some gigs with him as a duo. We later formed Scarecrow (songs of John Mellencamp), one of the hardest working and top tribute bands in Melbourne during the 90’s, where I was the Lead Singer-Guitarist.

We formed an original country rock band called Hard Road with the members of Scarecrow and traveled the country playing at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Gympie Muster (where we supported Lee Kernaghan) and other high profile Festivals. We released one CD , the title track “Hard Road Tough Country” was picked up by ABC Records who featured it on one of their “Best of Australian Country Music” compilations. They also gave us a spot on Landline and a film clip was made which was played on CMT.

“Hard Road Tough Country” was picked up and recorded in Germany by an Australian Country Singer, which wasn’t the first time one of my songs had been recorded by other artists. Cameron Daddo recorded two on his debut album, one being his first single “Fifteen Minutes of Fame”, the other “Break Free”. The D-generation also did a sketch on Cameron, changing the words of the song to “Fifteen Minutes of Shit”.

I also lent a hand on guitar for Troy Cassar-Daly and Linda and Vicka on various television appearances such as GMA with Bert Newton, The Midday Show with Ray Martin, Hey Hey it’s Saturday, Live and Kicking and The Steve Vizard Show.

Currently I am working in my own trio Rusty Nails with former Scarecrow band members, Jason Vaughn on Bass (also bass player for Birtles, Shorrock and Gobles) and Nigel Davis, long time drummer with Scarecrow.

I have also branched out into the corporate entertainment world with such acts as Remedy and Mighty Oz Rock, featuring members of John Farnham’s Band, Little River Band and the Stars’ lead singer Mick Pealing who has also embraced my vocal and guitar talents for his acoustic trio. This trio is currently working around Melbourne and country Victoria.
